Pedestrian Injury
Pedestrian injury can cover a wide range of injuries from permanent and debilitating to less severe injuries which are disruptive to a person’s life for a set time and then they are for the most part recovered. Any person who is hurt because of someone else’s negligence may have a right to be made whole.
Dog Bite
Data that the CDC collected in the USA between 2001 and 2003 indicated there were 4.5 million dog bite victims per year, but that figure appears to be rising.(https://dogbitelaw.com/dog-bite-statistics/dog-bite-statistics) In 2015, more than 28,000 reconstructive surgery procedures were performed because of dog bites. (American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 2015 Plastic Surgery Statistics, p. 9, http://www.dogsbite.org/pdf/2015-plastic-surgery-statistics-report.pdf.)
Oilfield Injury
A recent study listed Texas as a top three state for oil and gas extraction industry fatalities for workers. When something goes wrong on a well site or a drilling rig, the results are often catastrophic. Falls from the rig or equipment or rig collapses are, if not fatal, causes of permanent potentially life threatening injuries, including spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries. Equipment failures due to defects in manufacturing or design can lead to the loss of fingers, limbs or even life. Blowouts, work rigs, pump jacks and compressor stations are only a few of the areas or situations where injuries can and have occurred in the oilfield.
Construction Site Injury
The leading causes of private sector worker deaths (excluding highway collisions) in the construction industry were falls, followed by struck by object, electrocution, and caught-in/between, where the construction worker was killed when caught-in or compressed by equipment or objects, and struck, caught, or crushed in collapsing structure, equipment, or material and killed. These “Fatal Four” were responsible for more than half (64.2%) of the construction worker deaths in 2015.

Bicycle Wreck
In 2015, every single day of the year two people were killed in bicycle/motor vehicle crashes in the United States. This is a 12.2 percent increase from the year before. An estimated 45,000 people were hurt while riding a bicycle in 2015. However, this number is probably far lower than the reality as research into hospital records shows that only a fraction of bicycle crashes causing injury are ever recorded by the police, possibly as low as ten percent of the actual total.
Bicyclists are always going to lose in a collision with a car or truck. They are fully exposed to all of the negative consequences of a wreck with none of the safety features available to the driver of the vehicle.
Electrocution Injury
Electricity is present at most job sites, and many American workers, regardless of industry or occupation, are exposed to electricity daily while working. Potentially hazardous exposures can happen through contact with a wide range of items, running from something as innocent seeming as a broken light bulb to an energized overhead power line. An electrocution injury is often life altering and life threatening if not life ending. Exposure to high voltage wires is a deadly scenario for any worker.
Dram Shop
Borland Phiffer Law is a leading Dram Shop attorney group in West Texas. Every day, almost 29 people in the United States die in alcohol-impaired vehicle crashes thats’s one person every 50 minutes in 2016. In 2010, the most recent year for which cost data is available, these deaths and damages contributed to a cost of 44B ($44,000,000,000.00) per year.
Workplace Injury
Almost 3.1 million non-fatal workplace injuries and illnesses were reported among private industry employers in the United States last year as reported by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. Those statistics clearly show that American workplaces can still be dangerous places to spend eight hours every day. Of course, it can be an even more dangerous place to spend 20 plus hours a day as many jobs require.Almost 3.1 million non-fatal workplace injuries and illnesses were reported among private industry employers in the United States last year as reported by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. Car Wrecks
If a driver chooses to drive while distracted, drunk, or doing any number of things other than following the rules of the road, and as a result hurts another person, then they and their insurance should be responsible for all the damages they caused. There are over 218 million registered passenger vehicles in the United States today. (Statista). We have some of the busiest road systems in the world. We all use the roads every day to get to and from home, work, school, church, grocery store, etc. We don't have a choice about it and we don't get to choose who shares the road with us.
